A PARENT'S WORST NIGHTMARE: Killing of a co-ed's dreams (L. A. True Crime Files Book 10)

One early Friday evening a co-ed at the Cal Poly University near, Los Angeles was excited about going to a fraternity party. Her name was Christina Burmeister and she was one of the Sweethearts of Sigma Nu. What made this occasion even more special was the fact that she was driving to the party in her brand-new Chevy pickup. She couldn’t wait to show all the guys her new set of wheels.

The fraternity party was a big hit with everyone enjoying the drinking and dancing. However, Christina never showed up for the party and no one had seen her even her family. Regretfully on Sunday her new truck was found parked on a turn out on a mountain road. It was Christina’s truck and she was seated in the passenger seat with her throat slit from ear to ear. There were no witnesses to the killing and no useful clues. When they searched the truck, they recovered her shoes and college sweatshirt. In the rear area of the truck’s cab, they found a mouth piece of a used tip-o-rillo on the floor of the cab.

Her gruesome death shocked the university and sent shock waves throughout the Greek system on campus. Years went by, with no one having been arrested for this grisly crime. Over time the students and facility grew more suspicious of one another. The student body and community leaders put continuous pressure on law enforcement to apprehend the killer. Through meticulous investigation and the dogged determination of a prosecutor, they took the few pieces of evidence and were able to build a solid criminal case against the elusive killer.

This book tells an amazing story how forensics played such a dominant role in weaving a web to snare the killer. If you are a True Crime aficionado you will be fascinated as to what happened behind the scenes to restore trust on a college campus as well as winning justice for co-ed Christina Burmeister.
