Across from the entrance to Universal Studios in Hollywood are two motels operated by two separate families who originally came from India. Both motels were in competition with each other, however both families helped each other out whenever necessary. The smaller motel owners wanted to expand their operation and decided to close off the alley that ran behind both motels. The owner of the larger motel didn’t object based on the fact they didn’t use that alley way.
Unfortunately, everything changed when the larger motel owner decided do some remodeling of their motel units. The city planning department ordered the reopening of the alley way in order for delivery trucks to have access to their facility. The owners of the larger motel therefore asked the owners of the smaller motel to take down the barricade which was blocking the alley. Thus, commenced the so-called MOTEL ALLEY FEUD. Both sides fought over the reopening of this small alley cutting across the rear portion of their motels.
